Efektivitas program pendidikan interprofesional dalam mengembangkan kompetensi, kolaborasi, komunikasi, dan kerja tim pada mahasiswa keperawatan : A literature review

Abstract

Beckground: Advances in healthcare require effective collaboration across professions. Interprofessional education (IPE) is designed to enable students from different disciplines to learn from, with, and about each other, enabling them to work collaboratively. This need is particularly relevant for nursing students, as nurses play a crucial role in coordinating care. However, the implementation of IPE is often hampered by logistics and interprofessional power dynamics.

Purpose: To examine the effectiveness of interprofessional education programs in developing competency, collaboration, communication, and teamwork in nursing students, and to identify factors that support and hinder its success.

Method: This literature review was conducted using a systematic approach, using the PRISMA flowchart. Articles were searched across several electronic databases, with the inclusion criteria being relevant articles, written in English and Indonesian, and published within a specific timeframe. Ten articles meeting the inclusion criteria were analyzed based on study characteristics, research findings, and article quality.

Results: Research results indicate that Interprofessional Education consistently has a positive impact on improving collaboration, communication, and teamwork competencies in healthcare students. These improvements are evident in changes in perceptions, attitudes, and readiness to work interprofessionally. However, most studies still use short-term designs and perception-based measurements, thus not fully reflecting long-term impacts in clinical practice.
