Pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan hiv berbasis media video interaktif terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap remaja

Abstract

Background: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) remains a public health problem that requires prevention from an early age. Adolescents are a vulnerable group because they are in a developmental transition, have a high curiosity, and are easily exposed to information that is not necessarily accurate. Interactive video-based HIV health education is an educational strategy that is engaging, easy to understand, and appropriate to the characteristics of adolescents in the digital age.

Purpose: To determine the effect of interactive video-based HIV health education on the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents.

Method: This study used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 70 respondents who participated in a series of pretests, interactive video health education interventions, and posttests. The research instrument used a knowledge and attitude questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test because the data were not normally distributed.

Results: The study showed that the average knowledge score increased from 61.33 before the intervention to 67.52 after the intervention. The average attitude score also increased from 52.31 before the intervention to 57.95 after the intervention. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test results showed a p-value of 0.001 for the knowledge variable and a p-value of 0.001 for the attitude variable. This indicates a significant effect of interactive video-based HIV health education on improving adolescents' knowledge and attitudes.

Conclusion: Interactive video-based HIV health education significantly improved adolescents' knowledge and attitudes. Therefore, interactive video media can be used as an effective alternative health education strategy to increase understanding and shape positive attitudes toward HIV prevention among adolescents.
