Abstract

Background: Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are a group of diseases caused by pathogens, primarily viruses and bacteria, that are transmitted through sexual contact. STI control is achieved through education, early detection, and appropriate treatment. One of the main causes of STIs is the human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV infection plays a significant role in the development of cervical cancer and genital warts, as well as impacting psychosocial aspects due to the stigma associated with it.

Purpose: to determine the relationship between demographic factors and the incidence of condyloma acuminata.

Method: The type of research conducted in this study is descriptive analytical with a retrospective approach, which aims to determine demographic factors with the incidence of condyloma acuminata. The sample used a total sampling technique and totaled 72 people.

Results: Based on the results of research at Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Regional General Hospital, Lampung Province in 2024–2025, most patients experienced Condyloma Acuminata (69.4%) compared to other STIs (30.6%). Respondent characteristics were dominated by ages 20–45 years (75.0%), secondary education (63.9%), and unemployed/housewives (41.7%), with a balanced proportion of gender and marital status between men and women and married and unmarried (50.0% each). Bivariate analysis showed that age, gender, marital status, education level, and occupation had a significant relationship with the incidence of Condyloma Acuminata (p<0.05), where cases were more frequently found in the 20–45 age group, men, unmarried, secondary education, and unemployed or housewives.

Conclusion: Statistical analysis showed that all variables studied—age, gender, marital status, education level, and occupation, had a significant relationship with the incidence of condyloma acuminata (p<0.05).
