Beauty Salon HIRARC JSA Occupational Health and Safety
Abstract
Background: Work activities in beauty salons are a series of processes that involve direct interaction between workers and various tools, materials, as well as consumers. In everyday practice, various occupational accident risks often occur in salons. However, these incidents are rarely recorded or reported officially because they are considered a normal part of the job. Differences in the scale of salon businesses also have a significant influence on the types of hazards that arise and the level of control over them.
Purpose: Conducting the identification of occupational accident hazards using JSA with a HIRARC approach in beauty salons with different business scales.
Method: The research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The selection of respondents in this study used purposive sampling technique with a total of 16 respondents. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, as well as using JSA and HIRARC.
Results: The levels of risk found ranged from low to high, with a predominance at the moderate risk level.
Conclusion: Large-scale salons tend to have more complex risks, whereas small-scale salons have limitations in implementing occupational health and safety.
