Drug Storage Hospital Narcotics Psychotropics Tablet
Abstract
Background: Storage of pharmaceutical preparations and medical consumables is a regulatory process to maintain the safety and quality of pharmaceutical preparations, particularly narcotic and psychotropic drugs. If stored improperly, these two types of drugs can be dangerous and lead to abuse. Therefore, proper storage of narcotic and psychotropic drugs is essential to maintain drug quality, facilitate retrieval and monitoring, and reduce the risk of loss.
Purpose: To determine the appropriate storage conditions for narcotic and psychotropic tablet preparations in inpatient and outpatient pharmacy depots.
Method: Descriptive observations involving direct observation of the storage conditions of narcotic and psychotropic tablet preparations in use and observing the completeness of drug stock cards in the depot and pharmacy installation. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted.
Results: The storage parameters for narcotic and psychotropic drugs according to Minister of Health Regulation No. 5 of 2023 at the Inpatient and Outpatient Depots of the Pharmacy Installation of Bhayangkara Hospital Makassar have met all parameters. In addition to reviewing the appropriate storage of narcotic and psychotropic drugs based on Minister of Health Regulation No. 5 of 2023, appropriate storage of narcotic and psychotropic drugs is also regulated by BPOM Regulation No. 24 of 2021.
Conclusion: Compliance with narcotic and psychotropic drug storage is 100%, with a "very good" criterion.
