Adolescents CIPP Dating Violence Genre Program Evaluation
Abstract
Background: Dating violence among adolescents is a growing public health issue globally and nationally. Limited knowledge of healthy relationships contributes significantly to adolescents’ vulnerability. The Generation Planning Program (GenRe) aims to strengthen adolescents’ knowledge, attitudes, and life skills related to reproductive health and healthy relationships.
Purpose: To evaluate the implementation of the GenRe program in improving adolescents’ understanding of dating violence.
Method: This qualitative study applied the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product). Informants were selected through purposive sampling and consisted of program managers, GenRe ambassadors, peer educators, and adolescent participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model.
Result: The GenRe program has been implemented adequately and has contributed to improving adolescents’ understanding of dating violence. Adolescents demonstrated improved knowledge and attitudes toward recognizing unhealthy relationships. However, the program outcomes were not evenly distributed due to variations in participation, motivation, and comprehension levels.
Conclusion: The GenRe program is moderately effective in improving adolescents’ understanding and attitudes regarding dating violence, but requires strengthening in participation, coverage, and implementation quality.
