Environmental Health Risk Analysis (Arkl) Particulate Matter 10

Abstract

Background: PM10 is a coarse particulate matter with a diameter of <10 μm produced through mechanical processes of dust on road surfaces and mechanical processes in industrial environments.

Purpose: To determine the level of environmental health risks of PM 10 dust exposure in outdoor workers due to garbage truck activity.

Methods: This study used a descriptive observational design, applying the ARKL study approach.

Results: There are several types of risk agents namely PM10, PM 2.5, CO, and SO2. The concentration of PM10 dust at point 1 is 21.33 µg/m³ and point 2 is 6.67 µg/m³. The RFC value of PM10 dust is 0.015 mg/kg/day. The real-time intake value at point 1 is 0.00022 mg/kg/day and the real-time intake value at point 2 is 0.00011. The lifetime intake value at point 1 for 30 years is 0.00222 and the lifetime intake value at point 2 for 30 years is 0.00071. The real-time RQ value at point 1 is 0.0148 and point 2 is 0.00733. The lifetime intake value for 30 years at point 1 is 0.14851 and point 2 is 0.04731.

Conclusion: PM10 dust concentrations at points 1 and 2 are still below the quality standard of 75 µg/m³. Real-time and lifetime intake values at points 1 and 2 are still below the RFC value. Real-time and lifetime RQ values at points 1 and 2 are <1, indicating no risk for the next 30 years.
