Faktor Hipertensi Pra Lansia
Abstract
Background: The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia reaches 34.1% among the population aged 18 years and above. Several factors can influence the incidence of hypertension in pre-elderly individuals, including unhealthy lifestyles: excessive salt consumption, lack of physical activity, and stress can contribute to the incidence of hypertension. Furthermore, a family history of hypertension can increase the risk of hypertension in pre-elderly individuals.
Purpose: To identify factors associated with the incidence of hypertension in pre-elderly individuals.
Method: This correlational study aims to detect the relationship between internal and external variables based on the correlation coefficient. This correlational study is a descriptive study that can reveal statistical relationships.
Results: Bivariate analysis showed that all factors, such as age, gender, hypertension, family history, salt consumption, physical activity, BMI, smoking, and respondents' knowledge level, were not associated with hypertension, with a p-value of 0.669 (p > 0.05). This result was also supported by Fisher's exact test, with a p-value of 1.000.
Conclusion: All factors, such as age, gender, hypertension, family history, salt consumption, physical activity, BMI, smoking, and knowledge level, were not associated with hypertension in pre-elderly individuals.
Keywords: Factors; Hypertension; Pre-elderly.
