Diabetes Militus Tipe 2 Ipswich Touch Test Sensory Neuropathy

Abstract

Abstract
Background: Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common metabolic disorders, caused by a combination of two main factors impaired insulin secretion by pancreatic β-cells and the inability of insulin-sensitive tissues to respond appropriately to insulin.
Purpose: To see the relationship between sensory neuropathy score and duration of type 2 diabetes mellitus in women.
Method: Observational study with correlation method, with a sample of 35 women grouped by age 45-74 years, measured using a questionnaire for the duration of having type 2 diabetes mellitus and the Ipswich Touch Test for 15 minutes within 12 weeks.
Results: Based on chi square, a significance value of 0.004 (p<0.05) was obtained, which means that there is a relationship between the sensory neuropathy score and the duration of having type 2 diabetes mellitus in women.
Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between sensory neuropathy score and duration of type 2 diabetes mellitus in women for 25 minutes within 12 weeks.
Suggestion: Further research is expected to develop this research with a larger number of samples so that the research can be analyzed optimally and get better results.

Keywords: Ipswich Touch Test; Sensory Neuropathy; Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
