Android Edukasi Hipertensi Kepatuhan Minum Obat

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases that is a major health problem in the world and therefore requires long-term treatment, including effective management through lifestyle control and compliance with the use of antihypertensive drugs.

Purpose: To analyze the effect of Android-based education on medication adherence in hypertension patients.

Method: Quantitative research using a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group, conducted on participants who have hypertension in the working area of the Sukarami Health Center, Palembang City, carried out in July-August 2024. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling, 64 participants were obtained, divided into 32 intervention groups and 32 control groups. The intervention group received an android-based educational intervention, while the control group was not given treatment. The independent variable in this study was android-based education, while the dependent variable was medication adherence. Univariate and bivariate data analysis. Statistical tests using the Mann-Whitney U Test.

Results: Android-based education had no significant effect on medication adherence p-value 0.080. High category compliance in the intervention group was 2 (6.3%) at pre-test to 24 (75.0%) at post-test. The high compliance category in the control group did not change the results when the pre-test and post-test were only 14 (43.8%).

Conclusion: There is no significant effect of Android-based educational intervention on medication adherence in hypertension patients.
