Childhood Family Compliance Multidimensional Determinants Tuberculosis
Abstract
Background: Tuberculosis (TB) in children remains a significant global health problem. Family non-adherence to treatment is a major challenge hindering successful therapy.
Purpose: To identify and analyze determinants associated with family attendance during tuberculosis (TB) treatment in children.
Method: This scoping review was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) framework. A systematic literature search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, and Google Scholar databases using relevant keywords. Articles meeting the inclusion criteria were assessed for quality using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) critical appraisal tool.
Results: Family adherence factors were grouped into two main groups: internal factors (such as family knowledge, attitudes, perceptions, and motivation) and external factors (such as support from healthcare professionals, quality of care, socioeconomic conditions, and medication accessibility). These two factors are interrelated and influence children's treatment.
Conclusion: These findings provide insight that interventions to achieve adherence should not be a single approach. A comprehensive strategy is needed that integrates health education, strengthening psychosocial support, and increasing access to services to support the family's role as treatment advocates.
Keywords: Childhood; Family Compliance; Multidimensional Determinants; Tuberculosis.
Metode: Penelitian scoping review ini dilakukan dengan mengikuti kerangka kerja preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses extension for scoping reviews (PRISMA-ScR).
